Before Revival

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14 There is a cry for revival now more than ever because of the increase in immorality in the world. Oh, how we truly need a revival that we may return to our creator!!! There is a key to this revival that we desperately long for, and that is in our main text.  A clear understanding and appropriate application of this text will yield revival in due time. You may ask how I am sure of this? It is because the word of the Lord is forever settled in Heaven (Psalm 119:89). After all, history has proven this to be true. No matter how we cry or long for revival, if we do not follow this instruction from God, we will not have a revival. Even if God in His rich mercies grant unto us a revival, it will not last long, and we will be left worse after such. The first thing to notice...

Journey To The Promised Land

Image
His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; until what he had said came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. Psalms 105:18-19 Have you ever felt like Abraham, the call of God to come out from your country, your kindred, and your father’s house to the land that He will show you? (Genesis 12:1) Or, as the children of Israel, you have cried to the Lord because of your bondage in Egypt. The Lord remembers you and has said come out of Egypt and journey towards the promised land, a land flowing with milk and honey. (Exodus 2:23-25)   Have you responded to that call or, still contemplating it? If you have responded to Him, glory to God. If you have not responded to Him, do not delay your response. When we respond to Him, there is a preconceived notion that our journey henceforth will go on smoothly without any obstacle whatsoever. We are disappointed as the children of Israel when we meet a series of obstacles. We then begin to raise all kinds of comp...

The Ancient Path

Image
Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’  - Jeremiah 6:16 In the past couple of decades, we have had rapid progress in technology. This progress has led to a fast-paced lifestyle. Everything we do now moves fast-paced, and sometimes we want to take a break from it all. In other words, take a rest because we feel we are nearing our limit for a breakdown or burnout. We get breaks from time to time to rest our bodies. However, this is not enough as we cannot rest our minds due to things we still have to attend. The reality is that if we do not relax our mind (soul), there can never be rest for the body. The verse for today tells us how to get rest for our soul, which will also lead to rest for the body. To get rest for the soul, the Lord speaking through Prophet Jeremiah says we have to stand (pause though that might be inconvenien...

Amazing Love

Image
Luke 15:11-32 O the overwhelming Love of Christ Wide as the ocean, we can never find the end of it Reaching to the deepest darkness it brings in gracious light A Love that turns the vilest offender into a saint We can never get tired of speaking of thy love Love ever watching and ever waiting Love that took our dark estate and gave us His glorious estate O Lord may my life be filled with this Love That all-around me may see this Love and be drawn closer to this Love

In Everything Give Thanks

Image
I n everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 A question that readily disturbs us now in this dispensation is this: “What is the will of God” This bothers both the secular world (though they might not admit to believing there is a God) and the religious world alike. Things seem to be getting worse but not better. Is it the will of God those things go on like this, or will there be a change? Bless God, that as followers of Christ, we are not in the dark about the will of God, but it has been shown to us through Jesus Christ the Light of the world (John 1:3). Apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit writes: “in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Here the will of God is stated in the simplest form, and it is to give thanks in everything. Is not it amazing that the things of God are simple and it requires is a simple mind to grasp it (Matthew 11:25)? How is it possible to ...

Jesus Paid It All

Image
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Colossians 2:13-14 In the beginning, when God created man, He created man in His image and gave all of His creation into his care (Genesis 1:27-28). Man became the caretaker of all of God's creation but, somewhere along the line, man lost the care of God’s creation after being tempted to eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). Ever since then, man has been in debt and, it can be paid for only through death (Romans 3:23). God in His infinite mercy made way for man to repay the debt through the sacrificing of animals in the Old Testament, which went on for a great while. This, however, was not enough to repay the debt that man had fallen into. No amount ...

On to Perfection

Image
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith towards God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.  - Hebrews 6:1-3 When a child is born, there is an expectation for the child to grow up and someday become an adult. The child is also to exhibit some characters of the parent. The course of nature sees to that. In a few cases, however, this expectation is not met. As Christians, our Lord Jesus also expects us to grow and become perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). You might then say how can one be perfect if Jesus said no one is good, save one, that is God (Luke 18:19). That is a valid question, and the answer to that is, in Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in ...
