Who May Ascend The Hill Of The Lord?

Image
The earth’s is the LORD’s and all the fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters. Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully   – Psalm 24:1-4   This beautiful Psalm talks about who may come into the presence of the Lord. As Christian, the place we ought to always be is in the presence of the Lord, so I trust there is something valuable to learn in this Psalm.   A short background of the text will prove to be of great help, so let’s take a look. Here is a Psalm of David when the ark of God was transported into the tent pitched by David (1 Chronicles 15: 1-25). From this background, we can readily see that David was talking about coming into the presence of the Lord.   It is interesting to note that in the first two verses of this text, David talks about the

A need for Intercession and Intercessors

The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven. - Nehemiah 1:1-4 Oh, how we need intercession and intercessors in this time. We have fallen into sin and are gradually drifting away from the presence of the Lord, leading to the awful moral, social, economic, and health decline that currently plagues us ( Daniel 9:4-7) . In the Bible text above, we see the same

We shall see Him in glory

As the cloud covers the sun So, we see Him now Just a little glimpse of His glory we see And oh, how marvelous and glorious it is.   Oh, what greater joy it is to know that the clouds would not forever cover the sun so also, we would not forever just see little glimpses of His glory   What blessed day it will be when we will behold Him as He is in glory when the clouds are forever lifted up.   Oh, my precious Jesus, how I long for that day when the dark clouds of unknowing will be forever lifted up and I'll see you as you are   Hallelujah Glory to God in the highest for such marvelous hope He has given unto me His beloved

Prayer of Consecration

O Heaven come brood upon me O Heart of the Father come brood upon my heart Break me O Lord and use me for Your glory Take away from me the joy of this world And fill my heart with the pain of the Father I know not what it will cost me But this I know that I'm willing to give up whatever it takes Knowing that your Spirit will help and lead me all the way Let me feel O precious Jesus What it was like when you bore upon your soul The sins of the whole world And let this give birth to an agony in me that gives it all Even if it is my life That by any means possible some might be won unto you my precious King
