Are you willing to suffer for/with Christ?

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:11-13  Only the person that has learned to die to this world knows how to live in it - William Gurnall. There is a common saying amongst the Christian circle that goes thus: Jesus already suffered it all for my sake, so therefore I do not need to suffer any bit. This saying is unbiblical as it does not agree with the truths expressed in the scriptures. One of the marks of a Christian is in their willingness to suffer for/with Christ. So if you as a Christian are unwilling to suffer for/with Christ, it is either one of these: either you are still are carnal Christian (1 Corinthians 3:1-4), or you have not genuinely experienced salvation. A Christian that is unwilling to go all the way for Christ is limited in enjoying the blessings of the peace of G

Story of Love

My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious My sin, not in part but the whole Is nailed to the cross And I bear it no more Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul I was recently meditating on the lyrics of this beautiful hymn: It is well with my soul . I can not help but think of one of the most beautiful stories about the love of God displayed to us sinners, the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). I can’t help but imagine what it must have been like for the prodigal son after his father welcomed him back and bestowed upon him great honor. He must have felt the highest form of joy any man can experience. I imagine him walking down the street one day, and one of his neighbors calls his attention for a brief conversation. I can imagine the conversation going like this: Neighbor: Hello sir, how are you doing today? Prodigal son: I’m doing very well, thank you, sir. I am full of joy. Neighbor: That must be some great feeling. Sir, I have a few questions to ask you if you don’t mind.

Abominable Worship

These people draw near to Me with their mouth And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. ~ Matthew 15:8-9 I once read a sentence that stuck with me until now. It goes thus: “Let us not get too involved in the work of God that we forget the God of the work.” It has become the status quo for most of us Christians today. We think to ourselves that because we are involved in the work of God, that automatically means that God is pleased. Far from it, what I write now may surprise/anger you, but that is the truth. God does not care about what you do for Him if you are not wholly devoted to Him first. God is not after what you will do for Him. He is out to win your heart instead. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). We quote this verse often that we have miss
